Have you heard of the movie For the Bible Tells Me So? It is a documentary that claims that the religious right has invented claims that the Bible condemns homosexual activity. While the bible doesn’t say that people with bad temptations are hated by God, Paul especially is very clear that the act of sodomy exlcudes a person from the kingdom of God. My parish Spirit of Christ Catholic Community once got picketed by Westboro Baptist Church because we run a support group that helps people of homosexual orientation to live chaste lives. Westboro Baptist Church said that we should stop teaching the lie that God loves everyone.
I can also recomend the the book Loving Homosexuals As Jesus Would as a way to deal with people suffering from this type of temptation.
