I’m sitting here watching one of my favorite movies from my childhood. “The Sea Hawk” staring Errol Flynn.

It’s a classic. Hero is a great privateer and swordsman who is toungue tied with the ladies. But after a look falls in love BUT they are separated and the hero must fight against extreme odds to come back, save the day, kill the bad guy and get the girl (In that order).

I remember the movie’s heroism, grandeur and of course the cool sword fights. The sword fights are still cool but George Lucas can write better dialog.

I often wonder how such movies helped shape me into who I am. Or perhaps young boys are all drawn to heroes with swords

It is fun to watch the movie now knowing how history. It was made in 1940 during WWII and the themes of Spain trying to take over the world and brave little england resisting now make sense.

Good quality entertainment, suitable for young boys, and girls, everywhere
